Hundreds of abandoned students from Rivers States sent on scholarship to various universities in the UK have mobbed the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike in London.

The governor who was in London as a guest at the UK based think-tank Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) was taken by surprise when on getting outside after the event that lasted for one hour twenty minutes he met a huge crowd of angry students from the state carrying placards with different inscriptions.

The students were part of indigenes of the State sent on scholarship under the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) introduced by the Amaechi administration.

This is the latest in the turn of events with the scheme. In October, the CEO of the RSSDA, Mr. Larry Pepple resigned voluntarily. Staffs of the agency have also not been allegedly paid for close to two years according to reports.
